The use of presentation software such as PowerPoint, Prezi and Emaze can add a visual dynamic to your speech, reinforcing your message and making it more memorable. Through the use of bullet point summaries, graphs and charts, pictures and animations, you can help your speech have more impact on the audience. We have an HD projector and screen available for members to use in their speeches, a remote pointer for changing slides, plus speakers if you would like to use audio.
We recommend that you bring your own laptop or other portable device that has the ability to connect to the HDMI input of the projector. We have an HDMI cable at the club, so most laptops will be able to simply plug directly into that, but for other devices such as Apple iPads you will need to bring an adaptor.
If you are planning to use equipment in your speech, please contact the Sergeant at Arms Mark Gibson beforehand through our online portal Easyspeak, to make sure everything is compatible. And remember to arrive early on the evening to give the equipment a test run first!
